Skepta is A Bad Boy

Like the Guiness advert suggested, "good things come to those who wait", they did also say "drink responsibly" and which is what London Grime MC Skepta will probably NOT be doing in the next coming weeks if the buzz on his twitter page is anything to go by http://www.twitter.com/skepta

"Thanks for all the Congrats and to ALL of you that recommended me to @iamdiddy words can't describe how much I appreciate the Support. Love
about 2 hours ago via Echofon"

This all began when one of the kings of hip hop, P Diddy http://twitter.com/iamdiddy requested a UK remix of his upcoming track "hello goonmornin" to which several of Skepta's fans flooded the King's page with suggestions that he was made to do it and lo and behold the King said yes.

"Hey london I want to do a grime re mix of hello goonmornin! Who should do it?"

"@Skepta the people said we should talk. Dm me a contact! Let's gooooooo!!!

We should wish Skepta the best of luck working with Diddy as he does deserve it and fingers crossed he goes on to bigger things. Always a delight to see credit given where due and success rewarded deservedly.

Barcelona versus Arsenal round 2

So i decided to check out arsenal regarding their visit to the nou camp on tuesday where they shall attempt to do what very few teams have managed; beat barcelona on their own ground or score 3 with the hope that they just fall short of that or match that figure.
Rubin Kazan the Russian champions, were the last european side to steal a valuable champions league win at the ground despite Barcelona's 65 percent possession and countless attacking exploits. Looking back at that game, the Russians had a mere 3 shots on target and yet came away having put 2 of them in the barca net and arsenal perhaps can seek solace in that.

With Ibrahimovic out and crosses from alves not posing much threat for arsenal at the emirates, it will be even more important for whoever starts on the wings for the gunners to supply excellent crosses for bendtner for him to test the makeshift central defenders.
Arsenal will have to do what they have failed to most of this season; take their chances! Many of the games the gunners have lost points in stem from the fact that after creating a considerable amount of opportunities, they always fail to take them and get duly punished for them eventually and the weekend home game against wolves was another example.

Barcelona will have the ball for most parts of the match but arsenal will have to use it effectively when it is in their possession so threading the perfect ball to theo or encouraging him to switch flanks throughout the game may be a good idea as barca dislike his pace.

Wenger rested several key players for the barca tie and as they haven't got a game till spurs the wednesday after next, it seems Wenger is bracing himself for a bruising battle. Arsenal can't possibly play as badly as they did against them a couple of days ago and barca surely can't play that amazing again?! Like Guardiola said, the first half was the best football he's ever seen them play and most neutrals agree that was possibly the most nervous performance from arsenal in a while suggesting that this is shaping up to be even more exciting than the first leg itself.

Arsenal need to take their chances, Barcelona need to stop themselves from "overplaying" and overconfidence and if most people, including the betting companies offering 7-1 on arsenal winning think it's a forgone conclusion, all i can say is we've been in worse situations and the video below will remind them!

Erykah Badu Strips For The Press

As the saying goes; any press is good press so Erykah Badu being fined $500 for stripping off for her new video WINDOW SEAT and wandering through the streets naked ending in a brief part re-enactment of the JFK assassination could be considered as an addition to her PR budget for that particular video and song.
Shame it takes the gloss away from the lovely song.

Sales Of A Different Sort

American Apparel, the "cool" youth brand that revolutionalised leggins, hot pants and size zero decided to hold one of their famed sales in the youth infested brick lane on friday 2nd april. Sadly only 30 or so out of the 20 thousand plus attending the event made it in before the police had to shut down the event - http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=374872184661&ref=ts

The footage below shows why perhaps it was the right decision to shut it down.

Some rather amusing comments from parties affected include "he's going to jail, he's got a gun" and "the American apparel riot scenes are ridiculous, i could understand if it was somewhere like NEXT or BURTON"!!

Cue the NEXT summer sale!

Michelangelo's IL SIGNO at the courtauld

While others spent their april fool's day playing tricks on friends and relation, i decided to head to the Michelangelo "THE DREAM" exhibition at the courtauld gallery, as this masterpiece "IL SIGNO" had been hailed as "one of the finest of all renaissance drawings".
"The Dream" was very "realistic" and exciting and like many positive and entertaining dreams one has, was over within a few minutes despite all the excitement. A collection of some of the fantastic works by the master and despite the rather drab room in which they were exhibited, managed to enthrall visitors.

Kudos to the Courtauld for securing some absolutely fantastic works like the "FALL OF PHAETON" from the royal collection which like the exhibition masterpiece, a real gem and the six nudes by albrecht durer which is at the stadel museum in frankfurt.

The exhibition should be on your list of things to do as it will be a while till we see all these works out again.
